NNSW 2017

National Non-Smoking Week: January 15-21, 2017
Weedless Wednesday: January 18th, 2017

This year's theme is: Tobacco Free for Life... Choose Now!

Tobacco use has long been recognized as an addiction, resulting in the deaths of half of its users1. It is the leading cause of preventable illness, disability and premature death in Canada2  and the leading cause of preventable death worldwide3.  Further, medical and scientific evidence demonstrates that second hand smoke is hazardous to a person’s health as there is no safe level of exposure.4

Approximately 69% of smokers want to quit smoking (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2012).

You CAN be Tobacco Free – Choose Now! To help you on your journey, call the Smokers’ Helpline (@SmokersHelpline) at 1-866-366-3667 or speak to your health care provider about getting started on being tobacco free for life.
